Primary design of stirling engine

Hello dear friends
I have a question.In primary design of stirling engine with schmidt analysis,and in calculating the size of bore and stroke and volumes, when we have not any information about gas mass, volumes and ... ,What should we do?

There is a Yahoo Group called Hot Air Engine Society (HAES). They have frequent conversations about this type of calculation. You might want to check that out.
