As some of you might be aware I've been trying to build my own version of approtechies water bottle Stirling engine design.
I built one out of a 500ml aluminium which works well. Stainless steel is supposed to be a much better material for the displacer
cylinders. I'm going to build a 1 litre version. The water bottles I've been looking at are "18/8 BPA free" stainless steel, will this work well for this engine ?

Junkie, yes, you'll be able to get a decient amount of heat into that, just make sure that you use steel, or stainless for the displacer, its a bit of a bother having to replace collapsed aluminium ones, I did that 3 times last year on one of my motors, then I changed to stainless steel. Ian S C
