An idea

I am just curious, has anyone tried building a stirling out of PVC or plastic components? I was thinking of experimenting with using PVC or plastic and in place of an open flame, using boiling water as a heat source. I was wondering if anyone out there has thought of this before or tried it? (It seems like it would be a lot easier to assemble and obtain parts).
