Sunlight to Shade LTD?

I've been thinking about building a low temp difference Stirling into a roof, with the hot plate on top in the sun and the cold plate beneath in the shade. This would be as much as anything just for fun / learning, but let's say it would go into a gazebo in the back yard and drive a low speed ceiling fan.
Does this sound feasible?

It is an intriguing idea but of the ones that I have seen, the underside would have good, free air flow beneath the bottom plate. I would also like to point out that liquids such as water and oil in particular are far superior to air in their ability to carry heat. A common approach is to solar heat the liquid and this could allow the installation of the engine in a much more convenient location and you could still take good advantage of the roof by collecting the heat in simple or high efficiency collectors. I can promise you that this will be more effective !

Whether I ever get off my aging behind & build this is not certain, but it could happen.
