Curious if anyone has ever put a fan instead of a flywheel or fins on the flywheel to push fresh air past the cooling tube even if it was a minor amount of flow to increase efficiency. Or maybe a small fan like a computer uses run sized one run off of the crankshaft.

It would be simple enough to make the spokes of the flywheel in the form of a fan, this is the meathod of cooling used on a good many compressors(driven pulley). One of my engines uses a computer fan driven from the generator to cool the radiator. With an air cooled motor, even a fairly slight breeze will get rid of quite a bit of excess heat.
I have a stove top fan engine that has only the fan as a flywheel.

I think though Minor amount of flow will be received only when the Cooling tube has a small amount of fins. It would be the fresh air for these things.

In this case the fan is all that is required for a fly wheel

Here's a view of the power head, there are not fins or other extras to aid cooling, and if things get a bit too hot it just goes faster, helping to cool it down.
