Im currerntly building my first engine. Its a horizontal unpresurised mini alpha engine. How should i ofsett the crankshaft? does the displacer piston go 90 degrees ahead of the power piston? Thanks

Well with alpha, both pistons and cylinders can be identical on same crank pin 90 apart.
Displacer is misnomer here. Either hot or cold piston.

Its a horizontal engine that looks like a gamma so no right angle to put on same pin. Im trying to copy this engine:

You can actually run a parallel GAMMA on a single crank pin by running the displacer via a bell crank, and an ALPHA could be run the same way. On this motor the bell crank ratio is 1.5 : 1, for an ALPHA motor the ratio would be 1 : 1
