Stirling engine noise

Post by JR_ »

Hello,

Is there a difference between Stirling engine types (Alpha, Beta or Gamma) and the noise they produce? I am doing some literature study and it is not really clear to me.

I personally think that the Beta type will make less noise because it only has one cylinder.

Thanks in advance and with best regards.

JR, properly made there should be virtually no noise from any of these 3 motor types, the only noise comes from loose bearings, and depending on the type of burner, that can be a little noisy, gas or pressurised liquid fuel burners can roar a bit.
