Re: what cycle does this engine use?

Hi everyone! New pages uploaded on my blog! Kovács Caloric engine, Big volume Ringbom Twice-double acting Stirling engine concept, Manson (closed cycle) double acting with exhaust gas recycling!!! I need some feedback, and consultation here, if you have any ideas for these constructions! Thanks! Blade

Re: large lamina flow build

Hi there, The engine increased the speed, but heat exchange now not enough fast. I know it is a big deal to adjusting the ideal air flow, also the best heat exchange, but could be include a good heat exchanger. Now you have a good condition of heat contact surface, but not enough big that surface. I...

Re: Those Crazy Russians!!

Because that is so complicated. Here we haven't got any displacer in the cilinder. But my opinion is a flat cilinder much more effective.
The heat exchange could be faster also the engine.
Anyway: How you can solve your ideal displacer here segment by segment?

Re: Those Crazy Russians!!

Hubert Stierhoff design originally. His website offline actually, but some design on the google yet. His idea was a high torque air engine for sun. That engine's had 3 or 4 segments from can and the piston was a diaphragm. I think it is a high quality replication, not a new invention. But the torque...

Re: what cycle does this engine use?

I uploaded my GIF animated concept onto my blog from a no dead volume, cold side ventillation Beta type Manson engine with new crank. It possible to make with hot side ventillation too, also with the original ventillation. Long time to draw these concepts, so please be patient. http://manson-ericsso...

Re: what cycle does this engine use?

I haven't got enough time actually for the blog, but I try to update it. I'd like to update some shematic drawings and then it will be clear for everybody it is not a Stirling cycle engine. But if somebody watched the original Manson then that GIF showed everything. And I wrote there lot of informat...

Re: Heat Exchanger Design

OH, I see! The inner tube's wool is too dense!!! Also that spring is change the air flow currently. But If you can change the inner tubes SS wool's dense (half approx), then it should to run better. My opinion is: Better if you use this spring only on the end. The gap around your inner tube should b...

Re: Heat Exchanger Design

Can you make a drawing from this? I think the air flow was prevented. Thermal lag and the lamina flow is a similar engine, just the thermal lag is a folded lamina flow.
If that flow can't flowing easily laminar, then the air isn't going enough deep cross the wires!

Re: Heat Exchanger Design

I used paint for drawing, this is a simple program for shematic plans.

Than your engine is similar for this:

Re: Heat Exchanger Design

Hi Derwood,
If you can make a little shaped cone to the hot end SS tube, then the air could to move easier into the regenerator.
The heat contact surface will be higher then with flat end much more.

Re: Heat Exchanger Design

Yes! The foil is a perfect regenerator for other type of hot air engine, but the thermal lag has big different on P-V diagram as Stirling's P-V. The cycle is different. The working method a little bit similar as the pulsejet. The stack here is not a really regeneartor, or not just regenerator, becau...

Re: Heat Exchanger Design

Hi Derwood, the problem has complexity. The thermal lag engine has a tube inside what make a laminar flow originally. Should be SS material, and this connect to a red copper or aluminium heat exchanger/cylinder for the piston with thereaded connection. This tube is a preheater also preregenerator in...

Re: what cycle does this engine use?

Hi everyone! Some confusion must disband. I start to develope the Manson engine 3 and half years ago because I can't believe this construction is an impasse. If you need some information from this type engine then the internet is'nt show anything, just some old pictures and one man, who start to mak...
