Re: popcan stirling can light up CFL.
RonT; That first Idea was going to be just proof of theory. So there wouldn’t be much money involved. The Stirling engine I really want to build is Approtechies water bottle stirling engine. It uses a diaphragm instead of a power piston. You don’t need to be a machinest to build it. He gets 10 watts...

Re: popcan stirling can light up CFL.
Shoot ! Thanks Ron. I was hoping it was the other way around. Load up the super cap quick and then run the light for a good long time.

popcan stirling can light up CFL.
You should be able to light up a CFL with a well built pop can stirling engine. First off this is all speculation on my part but by simple deduction following the utube videos it should work. The bedini motor can be run as a generator, it also produces an EFM back spike which can charge batteries or...

Re: Tricks to Minimize Friction
I think I remember people using graphite pistons and pistons embedded with graphite.magnetic bearings would reduce friction.Precision machining where there is no wabble.Expansion and contraction of different metals or other substances should make a difference but I dont know anything about that.

Re: Infrared Fresnel lens
Bumpkin ; The first sight is what is called an infrared Fresnel lens, I don’t think this what your looking for ,but maybe it is. The second sight is what I might have remembered. It isn’t an infrared lens but a hologram on the surface that can direct light from almost any angle, to one focal point. ...

Re: Infrared Fresnel lens
I remember reading about it a while back. My search couldnt find it either. What I think it was was a holograghic prism that shifted each wave lenght into infrared. Hope that helps a little.

Look up stirling engine powered boats on utube. That will give you some idea of what your dealing with.

Re: Teacup with square piston/cylinder ? ?
Iam really looking forward to a video of the engine. I hope you can give it a little endurance test and see if square wares more than round.

Re: Teacup with square piston/cylinder ? ?
Bulldog, please dont take what I said as any criticism. Ive just wondered why the simplist and most perfect solution hasnt been used.Engine blocks are square. You could get more cubic inches in. ceramic engines in the future might have square pistons.I think you have a good idea.

Re: Teacup with square piston/cylinder ? ?
I guess with a tea cup engine it doesnt matter so much, but there must be some big disadvantage to a square piston when pressure and heat go up.In every way ,the math the milling, square and straight are easier to do.They didnt have square steam pistons ,no car has a square piston.Iam just curious.A...

Re: L.T.D. with hi torque
Vamoose, the perpetual motion device was just for laughs, like the Heron fountain. I could probably find an aquarium pump here on my island. Electricity isn’t all that expensive here, but what’s the fun in that? The minto wheel probably isn’t the answer either. The wind blows almost constantly off t...
