Oops one thing I failed to mention. there is no source of ignition either external or internal nor a spot for a spark or glo plug. I'm baffled....

Hi Folks, Well as promised here is the photo of what I think may be an antique Sterling. it looks as though it went on a boat. It is complete with the shift lever to engage a prop shaft.
