Unfortunately, I've never been able to find specifications. If the minimum operating temperature is 600° maybe it used some high temperature heat transfer fluid for "coolant". With water it could never reach operating temperature without boiling.

For heat to be removed from the cold end, by the working fluid, it must have an _average_ temperature throughout the cycle, that is below that of the cold end. Infinia had an earlier version that didn't require cooling. The army wanted a CHP that also produced hot water. Bad idea IMO. This thing is the result. Good at making hot water though Whaaat? Nearly all the heat goes straight into the cooling water, but not using cooling water could damage the heat sensitive linear generator.
